Sydney Waters is a graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University with experience in film, photography, and multimedia production and a passion for Film Theory and History.
Through her photographic work she often attempts, and occasionally succeeds, in capturing the brief and everyday moments that come with living life. Along with this, she re-evaluates familial archive photographs and media and finds a newly evaluated importance and interest in this overlooked work, reappropriating it for a new audience.
Driven by a personal and academic fascination with history, narratives, and the artistic endeavours of others, she works in the realm of analogue photography, film, and various other tangible mediums.
She is currently in the process of developing a short film that explores her mental health journey using 16mm film and direct animation.
